How To Order
There is nothing like picking up a plant, touching the leaves, smelling it, and seeing if it speaks to you. But, even the most simple and pleasurable of experiences have become cumbersome, and at worst, unsafe. As someone who both suffers from an underlying health issue and loves plants, this is the easiest and most convenient system I could imagine.
Here's the process:
1) Choosing Your Plant
Once you arrive at the product page, you'll see a set of numbers. Each number corresponds to a specific plant. I order the plants numerically, by what I consider the best quality. But, please note: I spend a lot of time hand choosing each plant from the wholesale providers, and I do not offer plants that don't meet my standards. Also, I take a bit of time photographing each individual item from multiple angles, with a ruler, so that you can see EXACTLY what you are getting.
2) Purchasing
The shop runs on the Shopify e-commerce platform. It is 100% secure. I have opted to accept all major credit cards, as well as third party processors such as Apple Pay, Paypal, Google Checkout, and Stripe. If you feel so inclined, you can even create an account to speed up the checkout process.
Note: The Succulent City is a registered business, and we must pay taxes, just like every other business. Apologies for the extra cost this adds to your purchase. But, what can you do? We live in a society :)
3) Picking Up
After you place your order, you will receive an automated e-mail from Shopify. This e-mail contains the link to schedule your pickup time/day, using Calendly. If you do not see it in your main inbox, please check your social/promotions folder - I assure you, it is there. I'm typically unavailable on Tuesdays, since those are spent picking, tagging, photographing, and updating inventory.
Please pick up your order within five business days. It's very time consuming to individually message everyone to remind them. Additionally, I cannot provide care/baby sit your plant after it's listed. These are living products - they need to be repotted and provide proper lighting/humidity.
If you are going to be late, please let me know. Ten to twenty minutes, multiple times a day, adds up - and cuts into my time better spent running the daily operations. Please be considerate of my time - I value it highly.
4) Enjoy Your Plants
I am currently working on care instructions for each individual plant, and hope to answer every conceivable question you could ever have. I am also available to answer more individualized questions, but please keep in mind that I'm the only employee, and handle a volume comparable to a store with multiple employees. I will try my best to respond in a timely manner. If I am unable to, please send me a reminder :)
